At Shiver Therapy, we welcome individuals of all ages, starting from four years old, into a safe and empathetic space. Here, you or your child can openly express yourselves, gently explore emotions, and embark on a unique journey toward healing and personal growth. We're here to walk alongside you, offering understanding and support every step of the way.

At Shiver Therapy, we understand children aren't just small adults; they communicate through play. When a child struggles with difficult emotions, we speak their language. Through play therapy, we use toys and creative activities in a secure setting to help children explore feelings, untangle emotions, and build coping skills. This helps them find joy, improve social interactions, and address challenges like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and emotional regulation. For older youth who prefer to talk, we gently reframe unhelpful thoughts. Our goal is to foster emotional healing and resilience, helping your child thrive.

You don’t have to change your child to lower their anxiety—you just need a new way to respond.
SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) is a revolutionary, evidence-based program developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at the Yale Child Study Center that treats childhood anxiety and OCD by working exclusively through you—the parents. Because the treatment focuses entirely on shifting parental behavior rather than forcing the child to face fears, your child does not even need to attend sessions. By learning to respond to your child’s distress with a powerful combination of supportive warmth and steady confidence, while gently reducing the daily accommodations made for their symptoms, you can alter the family dynamic from the outside in—helping your child naturally build resilience and find lasting relief from generalized anxiety, social worry, separation anxiety, phobias, and OCD.

Today's teens face immense pressures, and at Shiver Therapy, we truly understand their unique world. The journey through these years can feel overwhelming, with complex emotions, new pressures, and big questions. When a teen is silently struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, school stress, relationship issues, or sadness, we provide a warm, safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where they can openly explore their thoughts and feelings. We gently guide them to pinpoint and reframe unhelpful thought patterns, developing practical strategies to manage stress, build self-esteem, and navigate relationships. Our goal is to foster emotional healing and resilience, empowering your teen to discover their inner strength and thrive during these formative years.

At Shiver Therapy, we offer a dedicated space for women to explore life's unique challenges and successes. Women today navigate a complex landscape of mental health, influenced by societal pressures, caregiving demands, and life transitions, leading to concerns like anxiety, depression, or relationship issues. Recognizing women often prioritize others, we provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment. We empower you to develop healthy coping strategies, heal from past wounds, strengthen self-esteem, improve relationships, and build resilience, guiding you toward a more balanced, fulfilling, and empowered life, where you can truly find peace.

At Shiver Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is utilized as a specialized, evidence-based modality for trauma resolution and emotional healing. This highly effective approach uses bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements or gentle taps—to help the brain naturally reprocess stuck, painful memories that trigger distress. By transforming how traumatic experiences are stored in the nervous system, EMDR allows both children and adults to safely heal from past wounds, fostering the psychological resilience needed for personal growth, harmonious family dynamics, and overall well-being.
